“The Ontario practice is new, and I make no claim otherwise. What is not new is the twenty years of legal experience behind it.”

The pillars behind the column in our monogram.
How we work
We start by finding out what happened, not what kind of file it is.
What happened
Before anything else, we find out what actually happened — not what kind of file it looks like.
What the law says
Then we tell you what the law says and what your options are.
Cost and time
For each option: how much it is likely to cost, and how long it is likely to take.
Advice you can repeat
You should be able to repeat the advice you’re given to someone else. If you can’t, we haven’t explained it properly.
Getting started
From first call to a clear plan
Consultations by appointment, in person or by video. Every matter begins with a conversation.
Step 1: Reach out
Call, email or send a message. Tell us briefly what is happening; we will check for conflicts and respond promptly.
Step 2: Consultation
We meet in person or by video to understand your situation, explain your options and answer your questions.
Step 3: A clear plan
If we are the right fit, we confirm the scope of work and fees in writing, then get to work on your behalf.

Questions clients ask, answered plainly
Short notes on the parts of a file people most often get wrong. General information, not legal advice.

What actually happens at a settlement conference
Clients hear the phrase and picture a negotiation. It isn’t one, quite.

What a spousal sponsorship file actually needs
Most people gather the wrong evidence. Not wrong exactly — just not the evidence that decides the file.
ReadContracts
The clause in your contract that decides how a dispute gets fought
Nearly every commercial agreement includes a paragraph near the end about disputes. It’s usually skimmed.
ReadEstates
Read your will again if any of these has happened
A will isn’t wrong because it’s old. It’s wrong because your life moved and the document didn’t.
